Make the most of your time in Manchester and see a different side to the city. Join one of the tours which have been selected especially for Informatics for Health delegates. The tours will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 23rd April, so why not arrive a little early and see what Manchester has to offer!

Join us for a relaxed evening of science – in the pub! Dr Allan Tucker will look at some of the key figures in AI during the last century through to the state-of-the art learning machines that are all around us today and asks whether we will ever really have intelligent machines that are comparable to humans.

Welcome Reception

Monday 24 April

On Monday evening from 17:30 – 19:30 all participants are invited to celebrate the opening of the Informatics for Health 2017. This is the official welcome for delegates to Manchester. The welcome reception is an informal evening, open to all attendees at no extra cost.

In a world where information is constantly being exchanged, how much are you willing to share? The Nest is an interactive drama produced by SBC Theatre exploring how and why people’s attitudes towards the sharing of data, health data and patient records can differ and at times conflict.

Conference Gala Dinner

Tuesday 25 April

The conference gala dinner will be held at the beautiful Manchester Cathedral, a Grade I listed medieval structure, which dates from 1421 and was built by Henry V. The building boasts a beautiful interior awash with historical features which offers one of the most breathtaking spaces in Manchester.
